The Senior Vice President, Managed Care & Pharmacy Purchasing will:

  • Managing a team of five (5) direct reports including Vice President, Pharmacy Purchasing, Vice President, Managed Care, Senior Director, Pharmacy Financial Reporting, Director Pharmacy Services and an Executive Assistant.
  • Oversee business relationships with Healthcare executives to represent the company's position in contracting and new business development to support company initiatives.
  • Negotiate strategic purchasing agreements for pharmaceutical products and managed care contracts to ensure competitive product cost and reimbursement rates.
  • Lead and guide both short and long term strategic procurement practices to increase sales and gross profit margin. Guide activities of pharmacy purchasing associates to drive achievement of corporate and departmental initiatives.
  • Oversee managed care network management and contracting while ensuring network participation and promoting business development opportunities through preferred and limited payor networks
  • Evaluate new business opportunities, and other collaborative and partnership efforts with manage care, medical, and other providers while being mindful of short and longterm financial impact to remain consistent with company goals and objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships within the healthcare industry.
  • Develop and support a culture of constant improvement by identifying areas of opportunity within the organization


Experience / Requirements

  • The successful candidate will have 15 plus years’ experience in a highly complex, lean and multi-divisional organization. 
  • The candidate will possess a strong desire to take on more, and relish the challenge of new opportunities.
  • Previous success building relationships within senior and executive leadership is highly desirable.


Education

  • B.A. /B.S. required in Business or Pharmacy and Master’s degree preferred
