The Scrum Master will be working with a team of highly skilled and experienced engineers and will help the teams apply the Scrum framework, plan for deliverables, monitor performance and resolve issues that hinder the teams' work. The Scrum Master will coordinate and coach our software development teams and be a go-to person for applying Agile to produce high-quality products. The Scrum Master duties include managing timelines, resolving problems, coaching team members on Agile methodologies while creating and supporting self-organized teams that are flexible and fully productive during sprints.


The ideal candidate should have excellent knowledge of the Agile framework, with all its artifacts and techniques and with a track record of coordinating people and projects with a focus on deliverables.  Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

Experience / Requirements


The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:


  • Manage each project’s scope and timeline. This includes the coordination of sprints, retrospective meetings and daily stand-ups.  Work with product owners to handle backlogs and new requests.
  • Help teams implement changes effectively. Ensure deliverables are up to quality standards at the end of each sprint.
  • Coach team members in Agile frameworks. Resolve conflicts and remove obstacles that occur. Adhere to Center of Excellence standards and guidelines.
  • Facilitate internal communication and effective collaboration. Be the point of contact for external communications (e.g. from customers or stakeholders).
  • Guide development teams to higher scrum maturity. Help build a productive environment where team members 'own' the product and enjoy working on it.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)  Information Technology or related field preferred.
  • 5 years of experience in Scrum required.
  • Scrum master certification preferred
