The primary purpose of this position is to lead the District and Regional Health Care Leaders in the planning, development, execution, and monitoring of total store initiatives (Front End and Pharmacy) and objectives to achieve script growth, sales, margin, profitability, payroll and the overall customer experience; monitor performance reports and provide direction to the prioritization of regional strategy. Partner with your Division and Corporate Leaders to assure regional objectives are being met. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

 

Collaborate with other departments to implement and execute plans/policy/procedures to increase sales and EBITDA, prevent profit erosion, reduce pharmacy, shrink, improve patient outcomes and increase regulatory compliance in all pharmacies.

Coach, motivate and inspire team to drive implement and execute performance and profitability initiatives through the pharmacy and store management.

Provide leadership and development for associates by communicating career opportunities, providing regular performance feedback and ensuring any and all required training is scheduled and completed.

Lead District and Store Leaders to operate efficient stores and pharmacies by executing the company/region business plans/ objectives to drive sales, profitability and provide a superior customer and associate experience.

Demonstrate excellent customer service by utilizing key performance indicators to monitor and improve customer satisfaction. Champion friendly behavior in our stores and oversee resolution of customer service issues. Demonstrate Rite Aid Experience behaviors to both internal and external customers and associates.

Direct the planning and development of district budgets including sales, script growth, margin, labor and expenses and overall P&L results monthly to ensure operating income and EBITDA are achieved.

Lead total store inventory initiatives to ensure that they are implemented correctly, resolve any issues that arise and coach teams for improved performance. Monitor inventory initiatives and levels to ensure stores maintain appropriate in-stock positions while minimizing unproductive inventory.

Ensure and oversee compliance for the Rite Prescription program partnering with Regional Healthcare Leaders on peer review and quality of RX incident responses and Controlled Substance Loss reporting.

Conduct frequent store visits to ensure store's teams are in compliance with all federal/state regulations and resolve any issues with noncompliant execution or training required to bring store/individual into compliance.

Ensure all corporate marketing, merchandise and operations programs are executed to drive sales, script growth and profits in all stores in area of responsibility.

Leverage the subject matter expertise of your regional healthcare leader to drive pharmacy initiatives, clinical services and ensure pharmacy compliance.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly supervises District Leaders, Regional Healthcare Leader, Administrative Support, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.

Experience / Requirements

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) required.
  • Seven (7) years of experience in retail pharmacy management required.
