Job Description SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to develop and execute marketing programs and promotions that drive incremental front end sales. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.


The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Support Marketing Director in developing, implementing, measuring and reporting short and long-term Rite Aid specific and supplier co-equity marketing plans that include advertising, sales materials, brand building, communications, promotional events, online/social programs, and customer relationship management.
  • Implement competitively advantaged marketing strategies and tactics to drive customer acquisition, retention and growth.
  • Provide marketing expertise, market trend insights and strong industry knowledge to partner with category managers, suppliers and the Rite Aid Foundation to help reach front end sales and profit goals.
  • Provide planning direction and onsite management of Foundation and Supplier events and sponsorships.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly supervises Marketing Coordinator, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.

Experience / Requirements
  • Five (5) years' of experience in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG), Retail, HealthCare, Over the Counter (OTC) industries required.
  • One (1) year of experience in non-profit, healthcare or beauty segment marketing preferred.
  • One (1) year of experience in local marketing sponsorship and activation, large scale event planning preferred.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Marketing, Advertising or Communications required.
