SUMMARY

 

The Manager of The Rite Aid Foundation is both a strategic and hands-on role responsible for assisting in the development and execution of a national philanthropic strategy that helps Rite Aid realize its core value of being a caring neighbor and make a meaningful difference in the communities it serves by addressing critical community needs.

The Manager will provide leadership for the robust grantmaking function within the Foundation, build and maintain key internal and external relationships and develop a measurement culture for philanthropic and community involvement programs.

 

The Manager must be a subject matter expert in corporate philanthropy, a self-starter, very organized and comfortable with operating through ambiguity.

The successful candidate will have the ability to represent the company effectively in a variety of settings and work successfully with representatives from various and diverse communities.  This role will interact frequently with nonprofit organizations and members of The Rite Aid Foundation’s Board of Directors and Rite Aid’s Store Operations, Marketing, Human Resources, Communications, and Corporate Social Responsibility teams. This position reports to the Director of The Rite Aid Foundation.

 

The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  •  Serve as the project lead for all grant programs: KidCents Regional Grants, KidCents Charity Grants, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals Grants, and grants to regional and national partners. Lead execution of grant cycles and reporting in a timely and thoughtful manner
  •  Source and cultivate relationships with external partners, including national and regional non-profits, to develop programs and partnerships that advance our primary philanthropic objective of improving the health and wellbeing of children by supporting health and wellbeing, championing education and providing a safe environment
  •  Partner closely with the Foundation Director to help evolve The Rite Aid Foundation’s giving and community relations strategies
  •  Partner with the Foundation Director to understand industry standards for measurement and establish performance indicators for community relations programs
  •  Partner closely with Rite Aid Marketing, Public Relations, Distribution, Store Operations, Human Resources, RediClinic, Health Dialog, and EnvisionRX and other internal teams to drive Community Relations strategies and associate engagement
  •  Serve as a point of contact for Rite Aid associates and nonprofits organizations seeking information about community involvement programs and Foundation grantmaking
  • Represent the Rite Aid Foundation in relevant external meetings, associations, and events and serves as an effective spokesperson and advocate for Rite Aid community relations


Experience / Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in demonstrated leadership in the area of philanthropy, nonprofit management or corporate responsibility. required


Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Communications, Marketing, Business or related field required
