SUMMARY

 

The primary purpose of this position is to manage the design and development of training for new initiatives and training. In addition, this position has responsibility for managing the maintenance of training programs to support on-boarding of associates. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Guide, coach and manage a team to put into practice a best, In-class development methodology that aligns programs with adult learning theory in order to address skill and knowledge gaps related to associate development 

  • Design, develop, and conduct learning and train-the-trainer sessions including overseeing the implementation of pilot sessions; partnering closely with SMEs, Field Business Partners and Corporate Leaders to achieve organizational/business goals

  • Consult with business units to assess learning needs including scope; identify and propose appropriate delivery methods for new and existing training programs including e-learning

  • Review by providing feedback and approval for learning materials; develop and maintain tools, templates, and processes to ensure consistent, well-documented project data

  • Facilitate learning programs to support Corporate and Field development

  • Build training plans and curriculum road-maps and determine project milestones, forecasts completion dates; identify project risks and issues, devise contingency plans to mitigate risks, informs management of accomplishments, plans and deliver project summaries

Supervisory Responsibilities

 

This position directly supervises Learning and Development Specialist 1, Learning and Development Specialist 2, Learning and Development Coordinator, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.

Experience / Requirements

  • Experience and knowledge of eLearning software i.e. Articulate, Captivate

  • Experience with use of a LMS

  • Experience using project management skills and tools
  • Three (3) years' of experience in developing and managing leadership training required
  • Three (3) years' of experience in being a supervisor/lead team of instructional designers required
Education

  • DDI certification preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Human Resources, Management, or related field required
  • Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) Human Resources, Training or related field preferred
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
