SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to lead and manage content development, ensure the accuracy and clarity of associate communications, and oversee the delivery of associate and corporate executive communications and publications.  Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  •  Oversee all aspects of the associate website, including content planning, creation, approval, publishing and reporting, in coordination with the Director of Communications and Creative Media Services, Corporate Communications Specialist and business partners
  •  Lead content planning, creation, approval and distribution for organizational announcements, campaigns and presentations through various channels and vehicles, including written, graphics, video and live events
  •  Support Director of Communications and Creative Media Services in developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy and annual communications plan, including process, resource and channel optimization
  •  Other duties as assigned, including supporting external communications as needed

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly supervises Corporate Communications Specialist, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints


Experience / Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in public relations or journalism required
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft® Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and page layout, photo manipulation, and graphic illustration software applications
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience


Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)  Public Relations or Mass Communications required
