The primary purpose of this position is to define and implement pricing actions that are consistent with Rite Aid pricing strategy and rules.  Provide pricing insight to ensure consistent execution of Rite Aid pricing strategy across product categories to maximize sales and margins and minimize markdown and operations impacts. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Analyze price survey, margin, and movement data based upon the Rite Aid (RA) and category pricing strategy and rules, maximizing competitive and margin achievement while minimizing markdown and operational impact to determine the appropriate price for each assigned item in each assigned product category for each RA defined market (price zone) according to its unique strategy directive.

  • Analyze geographic, demographic, and competitive data to recommend price strategy adjustments.

  • Collaborate with Category Teams to ensure alignment of pricing strategy and Category strategy.

  • Negotiate a common approach and plan that is consistent with the overall RA pricing strategy and share market observations with the Category team to provide insight to pricing actions.

  • Act upon exception reports and RACS tickets to ensure pricing complies with RA pricing rules and policies. Provide input to the Pricing Data Analyst regarding item relationships to be established in the RA systems
  • Forecast the impact of proposed actions and monitor the performance of executed actions to identify when corrections are needed to ensure goals are achieved.

  • Delegating and overseeing the execution of work delegated to Pricing Coordinators to ensure the timely and accurate entry of all price changes into the RA Pricing systems.

  • Assist in training Category Management staff in pricing concepts and RA methodology.

  • Assist in training existing and new Pricing Coordinators on systems and/or pricing areas to ensure the department has depth of knowledge.

  • Participate in market visits to better understand competitive pricing strategies and execution.

Experience / Requirements
  • Three (3) years' of experience in retail or category management required
  • Two (2) years' of experience in pricing required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Business required.
