SUMMARY

Because of the success and the momentum that KidCents and our other Rite Aid Foundation-sponsored initiatives continue to generate, we are seeking a highly motivated, collaborative, energetic and knowledgeable community-minded business professional to play an instrumental role in helping us continue to evolve and grow current philanthropic programs as well as help identify and develop other strategic partnerships with nonprofit organizations that share in The Rite Aid Foundation's commitment to improve the health and well being of children in the communities we serve. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  •  Provide day-to-day oversight, effective leadership and direction of the Foundation’s major initiatives, particularly KidCents and Share Care to ensure that Foundation goals are met and policies and procedures are implemented appropriately
  •  Establish a strong working relationship with Corporate and Field leadership as well as local market teams to effectively leverage and manage the KidCents program and other designated programs chain wide. Serve as a key resource and help provide strategic community relations counsel to field teams
  •  Working with and through field operations and leadership teams, help forge and leverage strong effective relationships with our KidCents charities and other designated signature charitable organizations
  •  Maintain a working knowledge of significant developments and trends in the field of philanthropy and nonprofit management. Help identify and develop other possible strategic partnerships that align with The Rite Aid Foundation’s strategic mission to improve the health and wellness of children in Rite Aid communities
  •  Oversee the maintenance of all Foundation official records and documents and work with the Board of Directors and legal counsel, as needed, to ensure compliance with federal, state and local regulations
  •  Work closely with Rite Aid’s Public Relations team in developing and executing strong, effective communications’ strategies that will help promote The Rite Aid Foundation’s key programs and build a positive corporate reputation for the company
  • Help lead and manage the creation of effective outreach and marketing materials for the KidCents program and other identified key strategic Foundation initiatives

 

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly supervises Manager, Rite Aid Foundation, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints


Experience / Requirements

  • Ten (10) years' of experience in a senior management role in a major regional or national organization, familiarity with multi-unit retail operations and business management experience required
  • Public relations and/or community relations management experience also strongly preferred


Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Communications, Public Relations, Business, Education or related field required
  • Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS)  preferred
