Job Description SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to review prescription records and documents related to state and federal controlled substance laws and regulations including state Prescription Monitoring Program (PMP) laws for compliance. Primary focus is placed on correcting errors for state prescription monitoring programs. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes. 


The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  •  Coordinate the transmission of controlled substance data to state Prescription Monitoring Programs (PMP) in state specific format
  •  Support pharmacy teams in the correction of inaccurate data sent to state PMPs
  •  Error correction to the state PMP for compliance with state laws and to prevent costly government fines and disciplinary action from being assessed
  •  Coordinate accurate and timely reporting of PMP data with Pharmacy Operations, Information Services and Third Party
  •  Coordinate with Information Services to provide access on the portal and though NexGen for Pharmacy Associates to check for PMP data
  •  Review proposed regulations for reporting changes and work with IS to implement
  • Point of contact for all state PMP inquiries and/or issues

Experience / Requirements
  • Two (2) years' of experience in  retail pharmacy; or equivalent combination of education and experience required
  • Associate’s Degree (AA)    in Liberal Science or Business Administration required
