Job Description SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this job is to support the facilitation and analysis of indirect procurement projects and realize savings via strategic sourcing tools and analytics. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes. 


The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Develop models and evaluate opportunities based on total cost of ownership and provide to senior management the information necessary to determine the best method for Rite Aid to increase efficiency, solve or re-engineer a process while reducing costs and increasing EBITDA
  • Represent and lead Rite Aid in supplier selection and contract negotiations through Auctions and the RFI and RFP processes; utilizing project management tools to document and communicate progress and final results to managers, directors and executives
  • Collect and analyze large data sets from internal and external sources for the Spend Analytics system for strategic sourcing, business users, and strategic partners. The Spend Analytics system requires daily management of business rules, contract expiration status and organizational changes
  • Communicate project progress to functional team members to ensure that deliverables and milestones are delivered on schedule
  • Assist in the analysis of supplier marketplace data in order to create a competitive bidding environment
  • Identify benchmarks to project savings in the support of savings projections to determine the forecast plan for the IPG group
  • Manage the IPG departments demand for commodity data for cost forecasting and risk mitigation

Experience / Requirements
  • Five (5) years' of experience in Procurement or Strategic Sourcing required.
  • Experience in spend analytics software related to the aggregation, classification, and analysis of historical and run-rate expenses by vendor, account, and functional area.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Supply Chain Management, Sourcing, Procurement or Purchasing required.
  • Master’s degree in Arts/Sciences (MA/MS) Business preferred.
