Job Description SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to communicate purchasing information between manufacturer representatives and Rite Aid's Purchasing department in order to administrate and follow-up on outcomes of negotiations, such as purchase orders, distributions, price changes, and back-orders with the appropriate individuals. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  •  Schedule appointments with manufacturer representatives and maintain appointment calendar
  •  Maintain a supplier/manufacturer 'issues' folder for all suppliers in preparation for each upcoming meeting
  •  Produce, update, and maintain department performance reports, including Pharmacy Purchasing Operation reports for selected drug products
  •  Learn and provide back up support within the following areas: drug recalls, data integrity, supply ordering, mail handling, and other administrative tasks
  •  Administrate and follow up on all processes necessary to put new or existing generics into the Rite Aid warehouses, stores and Rite Aid’s wholesaler
  •  Generate specific reports upon the presentation of price changes from manufacturers and generate ad hoc reports and spreadsheets for various projects
  •  Retrieve data related to sales and purchases of selected drugs and analyze and report changes from week to week
  •  Coordinate results of data with department financial team to follow-up on special supplier invoices related to price decreases and other financial incentives
  • Make travel arrangements for Pharmacy Purchasing Personal
Experience / Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in a pharmacy or retail environment required
  • Or equivalent education in lieu of experience
Education
  • H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)  required
