Job Description SUMMARY

This position is responsible for developing and implementing company-wide total rewards strategies, fostering best practices, and driving operational excellence in support of the overall strategic direction of the organization. This role is responsible for the design, communication and administration of all associate compensation and benefits programs. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  •  Designs compensation and benefits programs that support the competition for talent and the company’s continued growth
  •  Responsible for all executive rewards activities, supporting the CHRO and the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors
  •  Provide expertise regarding the strategic design, implementation, communication, and administration of the company’s compensation programs, including base pay, short and long term incentives, and executive compensation
  •  Provides leadership for effective employee wellness programs which are designed to improve the health and well-being of associates
  •  Provide strategic leadership and operational management of the planning, development, and administration of a Benefits strategy that will attract, engage and retain top talent for the organization. This includes design, implementation, communication, compliance, and evaluation of health & welfare, retirement, paid time-off, mobility and disability plans.
  •  Manages the effective communication of compensation, benefits and wellness programs to achieve employee awareness, understanding and appreciation of the programs offered
  • Develops, implements, and maintains the annual operating budget, ensuring that operations are managed within the established guidelines. Oversees the preparation of the Company budget for salary administration and benefits
Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly supervises Director, Compensation, Director, Benefits, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.

Experience / Requirements
  • Ten (10) years' of experience in Total Rewards Leadership required
  • Direct Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors preferred
  • Retail and/or Healthcare preferred
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Human Resources, Business Administration, or Organizational Development required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
