The primary purpose of this position is to provide appropriate and accurate data to track and dispose of surplus property in the Real Estate portfolio.  The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes. 


The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  •  Maintain the system database(s) by researching additions, changes and deletions based off data communicated from other departments within the company
  •  Monitor and coordinate all broker activity including assigning brokers to properties, generating broker listing agreements, and calculating and paying the Real Estate broker commissions
  •  Assist the Director(s) with processing surplus disposition deals by reviewing all the information for accuracy, attaching the appropriate documents and, after approval, distributing deals to the appropriate departments and associates
  •  Initiate the appropriate actions regarding Prime Lease/Surplus locations including lease expirations, options, ancillary costs, lease provisions, and legal and environmental issues to maintain the correct lease information in the database so surplus spaces can be leased, sold, or terminated appropriately
  •  Produce deal analysis, deal negotiations, and draft deal memos for review by the Director(s)
  •  Complete special and other projects and perform other duties as assigned
  •  Field calls coming into the General Surplus phone line and field emails coming into the Surplus Inquiry email address in order to provide property information and surplus listings as requested
  •  Assign numbers to surplus spaces, calculate the cost allocation, and adjust the appropriate numbers in the system database(s)
  •  Analyze data and produce monthly/quarterly/annual Real Estate Administration reports on department activity
  • Identify and select MAI appraisers, obtain bids for appraisals as requested, provide appropriate paperwork and coordinate with appraiser to complete appraisal as needed

Experience / Requirements

  • Real Estate, business, or computers required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Associate’s Degree (AA)    Business or Business Management  required
