Manager of Pharmacy Inventory will manage and control only prescription merchandise and inventory.  The position will employ tactics & strategy to maintain and/or reduce on-hand inventory plus provide necessary reporting to store and field teams. Our stores hold approximately $950M of physical inventory and there is significant opportunity to reduce that dollar total creating a more efficient organization and freeing up capital for the Company Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.


The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Analyze opportunities for improved efficiency with pharmacy inventory and conduct root cause analyses
  • Develop & Execute continuous improvement  strategies for inventory reduction
  • Provide actionable reporting to store and field leaders for the purposes of effective inventory management
  • Provide actionable exception reporting to field leaders to identify store based opportunities and assist their efforts in inventory related task execution
  • Communicate with all levels of the organization (stores up to senior leadership) on pharmacy inventory related matters

Experience / Requirements

  • 2 years of experience in Inventory control and/or analyses  required
  • 5 years of experience in Pharmacy Operations  preferred


  • Associate’s Degree (AA) required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) preferred
