Job Description SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to develop and review all regular and seasonal planograms and monthly profit plans, and is responsible for ensuring all documents communicated to Rite Aid stores meets corporate merchandising standards and expectations, while increasing sales and profitability. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  •  Oversee and report weekly on the status of all active Merchandising projects (including Profit Plan or Planograms) per the established deadlines. Schedule and audit the weekly responsibilities of all direct reports ensuring all merchandising projects are uploaded into the Rite Aid systems per established timelines.  Develop corrective action plans to meet any late deadlines
  •  Monitor and validate the quality and accuracy of all planograms (basic or off-shelf) prior to their publication to the Category Management teams and ultimately to all Rite Aid Store Associates. This review process is critical as merchandising projects ultimately drive DC purchasing and store replenishment
  •  Attend Weekly Category Manager meetings to understand the Category Manager's strategy for upcoming merchandising programs (Profit Plan or Planograms). Ensure the agreed upon strategy is then implemented by direct reports responsible to execute
  •  Supervise a team of Corporate Merchandising and Space Management Specialists, including individual and team training on all Rite Aid’s Merchandising standards, conducting semiannual reviews and developing associate development plans
  •  Represent the Merchandising Presentation department at all Meetings (Profit Plan, Planogram or With Space Management Provider), walk through presentations and supplier engagement as required by daily business needs
  •  Ensure all programs are executed in the Innovation Center Flagship store and that direct reports have properly handled the residual products (packed up and returned to suppliers, shipped to stores or to corporate sale). This includes handling any approved corporate donation requests made to Category Management
  • Challenge current timelines and tools for Process Improvements to drive company profitability in sales, margin and Inventory as well as associate workload efficiency

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly supervises Merchandise Specialists, Pro Space Specialists, Layout Specialists, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints

Experience / Requirements
  • Two (2) years' of experience in managing direct reports required.

  • Three (3) years' of experience in operations or merchandising preferred
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) business or marketing preferred
