Job Description SUMMARY

The primary purpose of this position is to manage content development, ensure accuracy and clarity of associate communications, and oversee delivery of associate and corporate executive communications and publications. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  •  Oversee development and implementation of annual associate communications strategy to support key initiatives and company programs
  •  Oversee and ensure accurate, timely, effective associate communications through digital and print means, including Rite Times enewsletter, rNation, and print publications
  •  Develop accurate and engaging corporate executive communications, including quarterly earnings letters and quarterly executive message to associates, executive speeches and oversight of executive presentations through direct collaboration with company leaders to ensure compelling and engaging communication of the company strategies and brand
  •  Supervise and ensure associate communications team maintains and meets quality standards, production schedules and deadlines
  •  Support creative media services team in content development of engaging and relevant associate communications for all communications channels, including print, digital and video broadcast
  •  Manage development of compelling and relevant content for the company’s supplier partner audience through the supplier online newsletter and other company publications
  •  Manage and maintain content reporting structure of associate communications vehicles
  •  Manage tasks associated with external providers/supplier partners related to web hosting and web design of associate newsletter
  • Manage timely and quality delivery of associate e-newsletter and other publications through all channels and according to established procedures

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position directly supervises Web Content Producer, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints

Experience / Requirements
  • Five (5) years' of experience in public relations or journalism required
  • Proficiency with the Microsoft® Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access) and page layout, photo manipulation, and graphic illustration software applications
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Public Relations or Mass Communications required
