The primary purpose of this position is to audit inventory summary reports to ensure the accuracy of results. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes. 


The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  •  Adjust the book accounting for assigned retail stores to accurately reflect warehouse and direct store delivery (DSD) purchases, transfers, price changes, and sales
  •  Identify out-of-the-ordinary transactions either by store or by Auditor, research their occurrence, and communicate the situation to the Inventory Specialist 3 for review and resolution
  •  Remain knowledgeable of various accounting systems, including the Inventory Management System, Accounts Payable Systems, and the Retail Invoicing System, to efficiently perform reconciliation within each and to understand the flow of transactions to research and determine the accurate accruals
  •  Audit inventory summary reports that are received from store personnel
  •  Explain the inventory process to field associates and answer any questions that arise concerning adjustments to the book inventory
  •  Assist with month-end close reports as needed and prioritize the tasks assigned to do so

Experience / Requirements

  • One (1) year of experience in reconciliation required
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience


  • Associate’s Degree (AA)   in Accounting or Finance required
