The primary purpose of this position is the overall management and performance of the distribution center. The General Manager assists top supply chain management in establishing warehouse performance objectives and strategic planning. Accountable for living the Rite Aid Standards as well as achieving company objectives in regards to cost controls, budgets, productivity, quality, customer service, culture, safety and EBITDA. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

Experience / Requirements

The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

• Direct the activities of distribution center operations ensuring accountability for readiness to support shipping
units at a high picking accuracy rate with an on-time delivery.
• Develop customer centric goals with a strong emphasis on order accuracy. Ensure store visits are being
executed as well as open communications and accessibility to resolve issues within store regions serviced by
distribution center.
• Prepare and execute annual DC operation's budget to process units inbound/outbound to the Rite Aid stores
and distribution centers.
• Collaborate with business leaders in the organization to design, develop, or implement special projects as
needed.
• Attend distribution center daily meeting and interact with management team and hourly associates on a daily
basis.
• Oversee and drive performance labor standards to ensure an efficient and productive labor force.
• Manage corporate safety programs designed to ensure safety of all associates and work with the safety
committee to correct any deficiencies identified.
• Stay current on new technology which will improve the efficiency of the DC operations.
• Ensure store special requests for merchandise are coordinated and managed to achieve success.

This position directly supervises Inbound Operations Manager , Production Operations Manager, Transportation Operations Manager, Human Resources Manager, Facilities Manager, Financial Analyst, and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Rite Aid policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, directing, rewarding, and disciplining associates; appraising associate performance; and resolving complaints.

Education

To perform this job successfully, the associate must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required:

Education and/or Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS) Supply Chain required.
• Ten (10) years' of experience in Retail Distribution required.
• Or equivalent combination of education and experience

Certificates, Licenses, and/or Registrations

Language Skills
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, or governmental regulations. Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Able to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Freedom to Act
Ability to accomplish work without considerable direction. Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria in obtaining results. Exert significant latitude in determining objectives of assignment. Take calculated risks with consultation from the expert.

Problem Complexity and Problem Solving Timeframes
Ability to provide resolution to a diverse range of recognizable complex problems. Analysis is required to identify root cause. Use judgment within defined boundaries to develop alternate solutions, both long term and short term. Problem/Task resolution timeframe: Inclusive of shorter timeframes, but typically the majority of tasks takes three to six months to resolve.
