The primary purpose of this position is the design, modification, and enhancement of various digital applications such as websites, eCommerce online stores, mobile applications, web applications, and cloud-hosted applications.  Additionally, the management and development of APIs, micros services, integrations and/or cloud configurations that comprise the application stack. Consulting with business users and IT colleagues, working in an SDLC (Waterfall) or Agile/Scrum fashion to determine business and functional requirements and/or the capture of User Stories. The position is responsible for the support and maintenance of the application software used by various business or customer-facing areas in their daily use. Frequent independent judgments are essential. The incumbent is also required to perform all tasks in observance of Rite Aid’s brand and strategy and adhere to our core values and service attributes.

Experience / Requirements


The associate is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:


  • Responsible for the design, development, documentation, analysis, modification, and testing of software applications or programs, including source code management, prototypes, wire-frames, databases and integrations based on and related to business user or system design specifications.
  • Proficiency and understanding of application design and development. Demonstrated ability with various software development languages and components such as HTML, Javascript. .Net, C#, CSS, SQL, and API's, & Micro Services as well as creation of prototypes, wire-frames, mock-ups and responsive designs. Some experience with administration and operation of cloud-hosted environments such as AWS or Azure. Some experience may be required in the development of mobile applications for iPhone and Android requiring an understanding of Apple Xcode and/or Android Kotlin.
  • Promote and use the Agile/Scrum and Systems Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies. Create and/or provide input to User Stories and requirements.  Proficiency with Agile tools such as Jira, Github, Jenkins and/or Azure DevOps.  Participation in Scrum Stand-ups, Fibonacci scoring, Kanban boards and Epics/Sprint work allocation.
  • Plan, schedule, and control projects using established processes; participate in establishing project requirements. Allocation of work into Sprints and Epics.
  • Recommend business processes and product improvements within corporate functions; consider the business partner’s overall organization and objectives and work within functional areas to achieve results.


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)  Information Systems required.
  • 7 years of experience in Software Application design, development and delivery in an Agile/Scrum enviroment required.
  • 5 years of experience in Experience with software development methodologies, languages, tool and interactive-development techniques, and evaluating new technologies. preferred.
